David was an outdoorsman who loved to fish and go to the cottage as often as he could, so when he heard the news that his orthopedic surgeon was recommending amputating both legs below-the-knee it was shocking. David had prior angioplasty which was unsuccessful due to the small vessels and heavy calcium.

Fortunately, his daughter did not give up hope and asked for more options. The 60 cm Diamondback 360® device was used through the foot, and was able to clear the blockages due to peripheral arterial disease (PAD) in both of David’s legs.

Since this story was published, David has sadly passed. He enjoyed living independently for 18 months following his procedure with his family and friends.
